Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) – General:
- Must have passed 12th class in any discipline from a recognized Board/Institute.
- Typing speed: 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on a Computer.
Selection Process CSIR Recruitment 2025
Stage 1: Written Examination (Objective Type)
- Mode of Exam: CBT or OMR
- Type of Questions: Objective (MCQ)
- Standard: 10+2 / XII
- Medium: English & Hindi
- Total Questions: 200
- Total Marks: 200 (1 mark per correct answer)
- Duration: 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for scribe candidates)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer
Exam Sections:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 questions – 50 marks
- General Awareness: 50 questions – 50 marks
- English Language & Comprehension: 50 questions – 50 marks
Stage 2: Stenography Skill Test (Qualifying in Nature)
- Speed Requirement:
- English: 50 words per minute (70 w.p.m. for scribe candidates)
- Hindi: 65 words per minute (90 w.p.m. for scribe candidates)
- Candidates must accurately transcribe a dictated passage within the given time.

- Mental Ability Test: 100 questions – 200 marks
Paper-2
- Mode of Exam: CBT or OMR
- Type of Questions: Objective (MCQ)
- Standard: 10+2 / XII
- Medium: English & Hindi
- Total Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 300 (3 marks per correct answer)
- Duration: 1 hour
- Negative Marking: 1 mark deducted per wrong answer
Exam Sections:
- General Awareness: 50 questions – 150 marks
- English Language & Comprehension: 50 questions – 150 marks
Stage 2: Computer Typing Speed Test (Qualifying in Nature)
- Typing Speed Requirement:
